The Seventh Annual Conference on Regional Integration in Africa (ACRIA 7) has been held in Cotonou, Benin, 7-9 July 2016.  It was jointly organized by:

  • The Center for Research on Political Economy (CREPOL), Dakar
  • The West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM), Lagos
  • The West African Monetary Agency (WAMA), Freetown
  • The West African Monetary Institute (WAMI), Accra.
The theme of the three-day conference will be “External Sector and Inclusive Development in West Africa”.  The goal of the conference will be to organize a forum for presentation of scientific papers and discussion on the policy implications of their findings in support of the regional integration agenda.    Approximately 20 papers will be selected by a Selection Panel in an open competition and compiled into a published monograph at the end of the Conference. Sub-themes will include international trade, foreign exchange policies, international reserves, current account and balance of payments issues, portfolio investment, foreign direct investment, external debt, remittances, foreign aid, international economic partnerships, etc.

The Conference will facilitate a direct debate between researchers from Africa and the Diaspora, and senior national and regional policymakers.

Prospective authors are invited to submit abstracts or full papers no later than March 31, 2016 to:
