Financial Crisis Impacts and Responses in Developing Countries

Countries of sub-Saharan Africa experienced a wave of accession to political independence between the mid 1950s and the mid 1960s, with the exception of Portuguese-speaking countries whose liberation from Portugal occurred in the 1970s. The 50 years of sub-Saharan history since 1960 have been marked by dramatic events in the political and human spheres, while decades of economic strategies have sought to uplift the region.
